ARCHITECTURES OF THE NEW CURATORIAL

Architectures of the New Curatorial is a twelve parts lecture series organised by the Royal College of Art’s School of Architecture. For each lecture, a guest speaker is invited to introduce their work that is then presented in the light of one of the three axis of enquiry inherent to the series: Against/With, In/Out, Online/Offline. 

We were asked to design the identity of the series, that was going to be advertised exclusively online. We decided to design three different animations associated with the three different oppositions/associations framing it. Each one is assigned a signature shape and a specific behaviour. On top of that, a colour gradient allows each lecture to stand out individually within the sequence. 

The combination of the joyful animations with the gradients creates a friendly atmosphere, meant to spark curiosity and grab the viewers’ attention.
